The Blog Is Dead, Long Live The Blog!

I’ve decided to move this blog from Tumblr to Wordpress since I’m spending a lot of time over at Wordpress anyway working on the new Project 405 blog.  And Wordpress allows comments, something that Tumblr has been promising for months & hasn’t delivered.

So effective now this blog is an inactive archive (since I don’t know how to move it) & my new (mostly empty) blog is here: www.garydarling.wordpress.com

Tom Waits Mashup

Found a great Tom Waits movie dialog MP3 & decided to mash it up with his song Heart of Saturday Night along with some stock video & stills of cars.

I’m not wild about the text overlaying the video, but hey, it was free…

SeeqPod is a very cool music search engine & media player combined. Just type in a band or song name, click Search then click on a song in the results list to play it. SeeqPod does videos too, can be embedded like above & has lots of other features. This is an excerpt from I believe In Jesus from Seventh Day Slumber, one of my favorites.

Groundbreaking For The New Riverview Church Addition!
Today we joined 4 of our 5 pastors and a few hundred other church members to break ground for the new 1200 seat auditorium.  It was more like ground scratching as the earth was like concrete.  Still it was fun to be a part of something this big.

A 100MPG Homemade Microcar!

Jory Squibb has put together a great web site that shows & describes how he designed & built a pretty darned practical 3-wheeled 4-season microcar on a $2,500 budget.  Its made from a couple old Honda scooters & lots of bent tubing.  I’m impressed with his well thought out design and careful stepwise building process.  Lots to read here but worth it if you’re interested, he’s a good writer too.
